2013 Wedding Trend Forecast

The Knot’s webinar tonight was absolutely wonderful!!! In honor of all the fun things we learned about what’s predicted to trend in 2013 weddings, we’ll be featuring trending tips, tricks, and information the rest of the week on our Facebook page,

http://www.facebook.com/betterhalfweddings

#theknotsays the next wave of trends are going to be stemmed from chic dinner & garden parties. Say goodbye to mason jars and cowboy boots and say hello to the new “lux rustic” vibe, inspired by 1920s & 1950s glam thanks to shows & movies like Mad Men & The Great Gatsby ❤

We’re going to see pops of gold everywhere, and whimsical & rustic details being replaced by polished accents & art deco & old world charm with pops of bold, sophisticated colors.

Thank you to this evening’s B2B speakers @theknotb2b @theknot @weddingchannel @anjawinikka @ma_jennie @lauracave

Stay tuned for more 2013 #rusticlux #dinnerpartychic #wedding trends by the #bhw Better Half Weddings & Events, Inc. girls!! XOXO

Reinventing the Thanksgiving Kids’ Table

Happy Wednesday! You’re officially half way through the work week!

Spicing up those creative minds this morning with this super cute & thrifty idea {we know we’re a day early for Thrifty Thursday, but this just couldn’t wait!} – perfect for your kids’ table{s} at your Thanksgiving feast {Which, PS – can you believe it’s already next week?!}

This kid-friendly table covering is creative & practical yet trendy & chic!

What you need:

1. A dining table to be designated as the “kid’s table”

2. Kraft Paper {You can find kraft paper via amazon.com for $8.21 per 65-foot roll}.

3. Crayons or Washable Markers {display in a cute bucket or have a mini box at each place-setting}.

4. DIY Name Card Displays. BHW idea we love: Create a cute name card to attach to each individual box of crayons or markers & leave that on top of each plate to mark each child’s seat. They’ll feel special with their own box of crayons & even more special that their name marks their seat! {If you like the stamp name settings as seen in the photo, you can visit stampinup.com to purchase card stock {$11.06} & alphabet stamps {$22.17}.

Cheers to making your Thanksgiving kid’s table{s} practical yet trendy, cute AND inexpensive, and thank you to Country Living for the wonderful inspiration today! ❤

Remember, this idea can be used for many events other than Thanksgiving. Great for weddings that aim to be kid-friendly too! Especially if your theme is country, rustic, vintage, etc.! Or create for your next family get together, BBQ, birthday party, & more! ❤

DIY Starfish Boutonnière

Image

Happy Wednesday, Lovelies! We’re kickin’ off our 1st official blog posting with a DIY inspiration to get you through mid-week!

LOVE this idea of a simple, yet perfect, beachside wedding element – starfish boutonnière! Pick up a starfish at your local craft store, tourist store {if you live by the beach}, or order online in bundles to save. Loop a piece of twine, beach grass, or ribbon that matches your color scheme.

Want your groom to stand out? Add a shell, sand-dollar, flower, or another personal touch to his. Pin on your dad, groom & groomsmen, & you have the perfect, DIY, low-cost seaside boutonnière!

The girls at Better Half LOVE to craft, and this is just one example of something we can whip up for you! If you’re interested in one of our DIY ala carte items, we’d love to hear from you! Email us at info@betterhalfweddings.com ❤

Happy DIY & Happy Planning!

XO,
The Better Half Girls ♥
